Barnetby Le Wold Mill

Picture of Barnetby Le Wold Mill
Barnetby Le Wold Mill - 16 August 1998

Grid reference TA066096

This small tower mill probably dates from the early 19th century and worked by wind until the spring of 1904 w hen the sails were blown off. It worked by engine until the 1930's and was then left to become derelict. It now stands as a roofless tower with all of the floors collapsed.

The last remaining stones, a pair with a French bedstone and a grey runner, together with another grey bedstone, were taken out in 1964.
