Wheels to Work
No transport to access work or training?
The county wide Wheels to Work programme has been running since May 2010 to help those who are most rurally isolated access work and training. The social enterprise provides an affordable moped/electric bike loan to those unable to get to work, education or training opportunities due to lack of a transport solutions. All income from the project is reinvested to support this transport option for the future.
This is what some of those already benefitted from the scheme had to say:
27year old student Anna says “the scheme has been a real lifesaver for me; it has made my life so much easier and given me the independence I thought I would never be able to afford until I had finished my course and started work”.
19 year old Sales Assistant Melissa explained “before I had my 50cc scooter I had to rely on taxis and buses which cost me a fortune. The wheels to work scheme has helped to get to work and also to get around seeing my friends. I have so much more freedom now; I can’t say a bad word about access-your-future.
