Safe Nights Out

  • Always watch your drink being poured or opened
  • Don’t leave your drink unattended
  • If you are driving, don’t drink or take drugs
  • If you are getting a lift from someone make sure they haven’t been drinking or taking drugs
  • Don’t mix drugs, or alcohol and drugs
  • Ensure that someone in your group stays sober
  • If you are clubbing and using drugs, drink plenty of soft drinks and have regular chill out times
  • Remember that not everyone’s reaction to drink or drugs is the same
  • Don’t wander around on your own
  • If you feel unwell, tell a member of staff and don’t be afraid to say what you’ve taken – it could save your life
  • Get home safely, use a properly marked taxi. Private taxis need to be booked beforehand, you cannot hail a private cab down by the side of the road, it is illegal for a cab company to do this. Remember any unlicensed stranger could pick you up
  • Be considerate to your neighbours – think of your noise levels
  • Mobile phone theft is common always have a copy of all numbers stored. Be careful who you give your number to. Harassment by text is a modern day menace and is taken very seriously. Don’t reply, don’t delete and report it to the police and the mobile phone company
