Foundation Learning

Foundation Learning is a flexible way of learning for young people.  It covers entry level and level 1 qualifications and is aimed at giving you the right mix of skills and qualifications to help you to move onto a level 2 course (5 GCSEs, A*-C, higher Diploma or equivalent), an Apprenticeship or job.

It could be for you if …….

  • You want to improve your confidence and experience
  • You’ve got few or no qualifications
  • You need more skills and experience before you decide what to do next

What you’ll do on your programme will depend on your needs, the skills and qualifications you already have and what’s on offer where you’re studying – you may be in school sixth form, at college or with a work-based learning provider.  Because Foundation Learning is tailored to suit you it doesn’t last a set length of time. You’ll work at your own pace gaining qualifications and awards, and building up the skills and confidence you need to move on.

Your Adviser can tell you all about Foundation Learning, help you decide if it would be a good option and put you in touch with local Foundation Learning providers.
