Lincolnshire Sports Partnership
Lincolnshire Sports Partnership works with sports clubs to increase physical activity across the county and encourage people to be active and stay active. By 2020, we hope to create a successful county that leads a healthy, sporting lifestyle.
We are one of 49 County Sports Partnerships who receive funding from Sport England to encourage people to be active. We work on many different projects, all ensuring that as many people as possible have access to sport. Some projects are managed by us such as Health Walks and Bike 4 Life, whereas others, such as Sportivate, Sport Makers or the Wheelchair Sports Programme are delivered directly by us.
This year, in particular, we are ensuring that the London 2012 Games not only inspire young people in the area, but also encourage them to take part and keep active. We support local athletes through the Lincolnshire Elite Athlete Programme (LEAP), which encourages young and talented athletes in the county working towards the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. This year 61 athletes are on the programme.
