SFH Conference 2009

The national Smoke Free Homes Conference hosted by Lincolnshire County Council and Lincs Smokefree Alliance on October 20th 2009 has been a great success. 150 delegates from around the country gathered at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground to share best practice and learn about successful partnership working.

Amongst the speakers was John Tilley from the Department of Health, who later praised the event. Other speakers included Brian Porter from Lincolnshire NHS, three different smoke free homes projects including Lincolnshire, Leeds and Northamptonshire.  The importance and effectiveness of working in partnership was highlighted in talks from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and Lincolnshire pregnancy service.

This conference produced a rare opportunity for a range of smoke free homes projects to network and learn from one another; in addition to a wealth of ideas and information for those wishing to start or expand their own smoke free homes project. The day was well received by all and from the day a network of contacts for Smoke Free Homes projects was established.  Check out our webpages for this, presentations from the event and much more.
