India: Hookah is "less dangerous than cigarettes" say cafe owners
Hookah is much less dangerous than cigarettes, city-based Hookah parlour Mocha Cafe today argued at the Bombay High Court during the hearing on its petition challenging the ban on the sale of tobacco items at eating joints.
Division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice G S Godbole, on July 13, had upheld a circular issued by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, banning sale of Hookah in eateries.
Mocha Cafe and several other hookah parlours have challenged the circular, on the ground that MCGM has no powers to issue directions under COTPA which is a central act.
The hearing continues.
