No Smoking Day 12th March 2008 – The Great No Smoking Day Challenge

This year the Alliance launched No Smoking Day with their feature media launch at RAF Scampton on 8th February.  Partners the Red Arrows, Lincolnshire Fire Service, Lincoln City FC, Lincoln University and this year National No Smoking Day organisers themselves, came together for a unique photo opportunity which included a flypast by Lincolnshire’s red arrows, the first time in ten years that they have deviated from their training programme for a non military event.  This launched Lincolnshire’s week long calendar of activities for No Smoking Day, building on the 2007 campaign which was so successful and culminating at Lincoln City FC, Sincil Bank on Saturday 15th March at their home game against Stockport.  Together with Phoenix and the trailer Lincolnshire Fire Service attended with one of their fire appliances to give out their fire safety messages.
Throughout the week the Alliance, ran a competition offering visitors to the displays and trailer a chance to enter a free prize draw, with partners giving prizes, including a day with the red arrows.
