CCTV Cameras

The CCTV cameras within North Kesteven District are divided between two different control rooms for monitoring purposes. The images recorded are held on tapes for a minimum of 28 days before being erased. All recorded images are very carefully controlled under the Data Protection Act.

The CCTV cameras routinely record criminal acts. Tapes released to the police are protected by the Data Protection Act. They can be used as evidence in court.

Sleaford

There are eight CCTV cameras in the Sleaford area. Members of staff at South Kesteven District Council in Grantham monitor the cameras. The monitoring centre is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Live and recorded images can also be relayed to the Police communications centre at Lincoln and various police stations throughout the district. This helps senior police officers to assess incidents, and decide whether officers need to be sent to the scene of a crime.
