Information about the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership’s Performance Plus course - including new dates announced for 2014.
What is Performance Plus?
Each Performance Plus event day consists of four different sections, run by Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership staff for the off track sessions and the highly regarded Hopp Rider Training team for practical skills on the world famous Cadwell Park full circuit.
The course includes intensive skills instruction in the following core subjects, either on the track or in the clubhouse. Of course, there is also time for free lapping to practice at your own pace.
The four sections are:
- How to avoid getting it wrong (Theory)
- Machine handling skills (Circuit)
- Defensive riding skills (Circuit)
- Advice for and importance of vehicle maintenance (on site workshop)
It doesn’t matter what level of rider you are, newly qualified or more experienced, just be prepared to learn something new.
The theory session is not about advanced riding, that’s something we would recommend to do but it’s readily available elsewhere. The theory we look at on this course helps to understand how and why the practical skills work to avoid getting it wrong. The more you know about why and how a bike does things, the less likely you are to ask it to do the impossible.
The cost of putting on these courses is significant but the saving in terms of reduced casualties is priceless.
This course is heavily subsidised and we have worked hard to maintain pricing at last year’s price for a cracking day at the Cadwell Park full circuit.

Itinerary and further details
We need you to be at Cadwell Park by 7.45am for registration at the latest. The event finishes about 5.15pm depending on what group you are in. All types of motorcycles are welcome and catered for, although we do have to comply with certain conditions.
Further information is available in the Frequently Asked Questions document, available to download from this page.
Bring a pack-up or make use of the excellent food available in the Cadwell Park club house.
You don’t have to be a resident of Lincolnshire to do these courses as in previous years attendees have spread the word and have people coming from both ends of the UK, as far as Scotland and the Isle of Wight.
The day can be tiring and if you are travelling a long way you may want to stay over somewhere. The MotorSportVision Cadwell Park web page has links to local B&Bs and small hotels for you to make use of.
