The Parish Link initiative has been set up by LRSP in order to help Parish Councils who have concerns about traffic speeds in their communities.
The Speed Indicating Device (SID), which is available to all parish councils on request is an interactive sign that displays the speed of approaching vehicles. The sign is a monitoring tool designed to slow traffic and educate road users.
The SID can be used on roads that have a speed limit that does not exceed 40mph. The equipment can be loaned for a maximum of 14 days and Councillors or volunteers must be willing to partake in some training prior to the loan period commencing. All training will be performed locally by a regional road safety officer.
