The Source Multi Use Centre

Outside of The Source Multi Use Centre

The Source, which is situated on a prime Town Centre location on Southgate, Sleaford, includes a cafe area, large Hall and several other meeting rooms (which can be accessed separately to the main Church building) as well as a place of worship.

Established over 150 years ago in its current location, the Centre has a long association with the community with over 20,000 people using the complex each year. The buildings have been partially refurbished over the last decade, including the modernisation of the hall, kitchen and toilets and are used on a regular basis by a number of community groups and organisations.  In September 2007 an extension was opened, presenting a new frontage to the building.  The Multi Use Centre project was the main funder for this development.

Current Development Plans

The next phase of their plans is to refurbish more of the rooms in the complex, including the main hall and adjoining kitchen.  This will take place during the first quarter of 2008.

Current Usage

Amongst the many activities run from the Centre each week, the following are amongst those run by the church.

On three days a week, the Centre opens it's cafe area to the public. The church has run a similar drop-in since the 1990s but the new facility has brought some important development.  The Source Cafe provides somewhere for people in the town to meet and have access to a low cost refreshments and a friendly face as an alternative to the commercial coffee shops. There are now over 200 regular visitors a week who enjoy the social occasion and can get access to a range of information leaflets and advice opportunities.

The Boys and Girls Brigade and Band have been using the premises since 1893 for meetings and practice. Anyone over 5 years old is welcome to come along and join in.

Bobby Dazzlers started in 2003 and has grown to over 60 children on the membership list. With an average of around 37 children, plus their parent/carers, attending each week the time spent at Bobby-Dazzlers is structured to provide plenty-to-do with freedom of choice.  A new development since September 2007 is the start of Baby Dazzlers, especially for babies up to one year old and their carers.  The quieter atmosphere (yes, really!) is more conducive to the very youngest starting to explore play.

Details of the facilities, including how to hire rooms, can be found on The Source website - follow the link below.
