Promoted routes

Linked to our access improvement projects we have worked with Lincolnshire County Council’s Countryside Access Team to develop and promote new walking and cycling routes across the Lincolnshire Limewoods area.
These routes make it easy for anyone wishing to visit the Limewoods area by providing simple-to-follow directions along with points of interest on each route.
There are now six walking routes and two cycling routes to choose from. Many of the walking routes offer shorter and longer distances using the extensive public rights of way network in the area. Where roads are used, these are quiet country lanes which connect the villages, often with species-rich hedgerows and verges. Both cycling routes use the Water Rail Way, a mainly traffic-free multi-user route from Lincoln to Boston running along the south-western boundary of the Limewoods area.
