Across the Limewoods, new routes have been created and overgrown paths and woodland rides have been widened.
As well as making a woodland walk easier and more inviting, the open habitats created by this work are better for wildlife. An annual mowing regime keeps the centre of the rides open for access and in addition, rides which are important for flowers or insects are mown on a seasonal basis.
A surfaced all-ability trail has been created at Chambers Farm Wood to make part of the woodland accessible to all throughout the year. From this trail visitors can see examples of typical Limewoods habitats and wildlife.
A number of walking and cycling routes have been published, showcasing the best of the Limewoods countryside. You can find out more about these on our Publications pages.
