Minting and Gautby Heritage Project

A working party from Minting & Gautby Parish Council embarked on an ambitious project in 2008 to reveal more of the history of the parish.

The group successfully applied to the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Your Heritage programme and were awarded a grant of £25,500 towards their project.

Their work includes the publication of a local heritage book, “Glimpses and Gleanings”, development of a heritage trail leaflet, research and interpretation about Minting Priory and the refurbishment of a disused Gilbert Scott telephone box into a Heritage Box for Gautby. The project has also seen more than 1000 documents catalogued and archived to create a village database.

The book was officially launched in a ceremony on Saturday 3rd July and is available from:
