Lincolnshire Biodiversity Partnership
The Lincolnshire Limewoods area is rich in “biodiversity” or biological diversity - the variety of life on Earth, referring to the wide variety of ecosystems and living organisms: animals, plants, their habitats and their genes. Work carried out through the Lincolnshire Limewoods Project has helped achieve targets in the Lincolnshire Biodiversity Action Plan including the creation of new native woodland and the restoration of PAWs (Plantation on Ancient Woodland Site) to native broadleaved woodland. The Limewoods Project has also helped to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity through numerous events, workshops and activities run by the project partners.
The Lincolnshire Biodiversity Partnership promotes biodiversity protection, information and action from the Humber to The Wash. They have 45 Partner members and work in four key areas – the Lincolnshire Biodiversity Action Plan, Lincolnshire Environmental Records Centre, Local Sites and geodiversity. They are a not-for-profit organisation.
