Limewoods Study Group

An informal ‘umbrella’ name for all the small groups and individual specialists who carry out wildlife surveys and monitoring in the Limewoods area.  Currently we are working to produce a summary report to the Forestry Commission describing the survey work completed and results obtained between 2000-2010 for all the woods they own or manage in this Forest area.  The report will also provide each expert’s advice on the critical woodlands for their specialist group, and the ideal management of these areas.  Once this is completed, we aim to produce annual reports for 2010 onward.

Other possible future publications include monographs on individual ancient woods, and short visitor guides to the most popular woods.
