Where can I legally ride my motorcycle?

Motorcycles or quad bikes can be used in your own garden, or on private land if you are the landowner or have the landowner’s express permission.

A motorcycle may be ridden responsibly along on public highways or “off tarmac” along Byways Open to All Traffic provided the motorbike is registered with the DVLA, taxed, insured, in a roadworthy condition and the rider possess a valid driving licence.

Further details of where motorcyclists can legally ride can be found on the Lincolnshire County Council Countryside Access Map by selecting Motors in the Activity field.

The Auto Cycle Union website also provides contacts for the network of clubs across the country offering training and safe places to ride.
