Timescale

The Public Path Order process can be time-consuming and complex. Subject to statutory requirements and availability of staff resources, we would endeavour to deal with an unopposed order from application stage to confirmation within 12 months. However, where orders are opposed necessitating further negotiation with objectors and possibly the referral of the case to the Secretary of State for determination, the expected timescale for completion is considerably longer.
