Marking—the less is more approach

Decide what you are marking for. For example if you have asked them for ideas, don’t mark for spelling.

If there too many errors be selective on what you correct.

Assessing the Evidence—alternative ways to show you know other than writing it down

  • Use programmes such as Clicker 5, Close Pro, Write Online to allow the student to present his ideas.
  • Make a PowerPoint presentation.
  • Use Google to search, copy and paste.
  • Use MindMaps
  • Drama presentation
