Social Communication
Six sections have been produced to help teachers address the following issues within the classroom:
- Attention and Listening;
- Vocabulary and Concepts;
- Processing and Comprehension;
- Expressive Language;
- Phonological Awareness;
- Social Communication.
Children who have difficulties with
- The basic skills of communication
- Awareness of self and others – making and maintaining friendships
- Modifying communication strategies according to the social context MAY be experiencing problems with social communication.
Children who are having difficulties with social communication will benefit from a structured approach incorporated into classroom routine to TEACH them the skills of social interaction.
