YEP - Young Expectant Parents (Train the Trainer Course)

Target Group

This one-day training course is for all professionals who work with teenage parents-to-be.

Aim

To provide participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to plan and deliver the YEP course to teenage parents-to-be.

Objectives

To explore personal attitudes and values in relation to teenage pregnancy and parenthood

To understand the importance of forming a group

To give participants the opportunity to view and develop a variety of practical exercises/activities to use with parents-to-be which meet the outcomes of the course

To understand registration, accreditation and verification processes

To effectively signpost young people to services that can support them

  • YEP (Young Expectant Parents) is a course for teenage parents to be. The course is accredited through Open College Network at levels one and two and will be awarded 6 credits.
  • YEP provides support guidance and advice to teenage parents to be as well as providing an opportunity to meet other young parents.
  • The Tackling Teenage Pregnancy Team will support with the delivery of the course by providing all learner packs and tutor notes.
  • Support with accreditation and verification of files will be provided by the Lincolnshire County Council Accreditation Team
