  • About Local Authority Inspection

    Local Authorities are required by statutory law to participate in a range of Inspections co-ordinated by OFSTED.

  • How are Inspections Conducted?

    Ofsted utilise the skills and expertise of a team of national Inspectors who are extremely proficient in their field.

  • Preparation for an Inspection

    Inspections can be either announced or unannounced, because of this it is best practice to be ‘inspection ready’ at all times.

  • During an Inspection

    The inspection of services for children in need of help and protection, children looked after and care leavers will be conducted over 11 days.

  • Before an Inspection

    Ofsted will have access to a range of information about Local Authority performance prior to their arrival on site.
