Management arrangements for Children's Services
I am writing to advise you of changes in the leadership team of Children Services.
Peter Duxbury will be leaving the council in April to take up his new post in Birmingham as Director of Children’s Services. Peter has led the service to be an ‘outstanding’ Children’s Service and we are proud of all his achievements
I am pleased to tell you that Debbie Barnes has agreed to take up the role of Interim Director of Children’s Services. Debbie will take up this post in March for six months. I am sure you will all congratulate Debbie and look forward to working with her to further develop services which help improve the lives of children and young people in Lincolnshire
Sue Westcott will also be leaving us for pastures new, having been an integral part of the Children’s Services leadership team for the last three years. Sue has been a key driver of improvements across Children’s Services, but in particular has spearheaded our improvements in safeguarding, which has led to us being designated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2010.
Sue has been appointed to the post of Assistant Director of Safeguarding for Children, Families and Communities in Peterborough City
The Corporate Management Board has agreed that we should move to immediately advertise Sue’s post, internally and externally.
Stuart Carlton’s engagement as temporary Assistant Director has now been extended until 30 June in order to provide the required capacity and continuity within the leadership team.
Further details on cover arrangements will follow in due course and interim arrangements for Adult Services will be confirmed shortly.
Tony McArdle
Chief Executive
