Information Sharing
Sharing information is vital for early intervention to ensure that children and young people get the services they require.
Practitioners and support staff working within Children’s Services and partner organisations have a duty to ensure that relevant and accurate information is shared between them in a timely and secure manner with the consent of young people and their families when appropriate.
The Children and Young Person’s Strategic Partnership has commisioned an Information Sharing Resource Pack to support the implementation of the recently agreed revised Information Sharing Protocol.
The pack contains guidance for immediate use by all practitioners who work with children or young people. It is also useful for non practitioners who come into contact with children and young people and who need to know about information sharing and data processing.
The pack comprises the following:
- Overarching Protocol
- “Making it Happen” (this is currently awaiting a revised version)
- Information Sharing: Practitioners’ Guide
- Information Sharing: Further Guidance on Legal Issues
- Information Sharing: Case Examples
- ECM Fact sheet - Information Sharing
- How we use your Information
- Consent Form
