This website aims to keep all visitors up-to-date with the latest news, developments and projects taking place within the Service.

You can use it to find out anything ranging from how to become a firefighter to the latest response times, which tell you how fast we reach fires and other incidents.

The latest inspection by the Audit Commission rated Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue as “ performing well” because it is improving services, targeting people in most need and working well with partners to make Lincolnshire a safer place for all.

Recently, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue's achievements in equality and diversity have also won it the Equality Standard for Local Government: Level Three. The mark of approval from the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) recognises the fire service as having policies and practices that deliver fair and equal treatment in service and employment.

There are challenging times ahead and the financial crisis is being felt throughout the economy.

Public services in Lincolnshire are likely to face a series of tight budget settlements and that is an obvious concern. But the Service is facing these challenges from a position of strength. The main reason is that the significant forward momentum within the Service is backed up by a committed workforce of wholetime and retained duty system firefighters and support staff.

These people form the backbone of the organisation and their commitment to the job stems from the fact that they live in the communities they serve.

Firefighters are equipped with a wide range of skills which are frequently updated as the Service continues to modernise while the Service also has specialist skills in areas such as animal rescue, rope rescue, cutting people out of crashed vehicles and Urban Search and Rescue. These skills were put to the test when ten of our firefighters took part in the international search and rescue operation in Haiti. A photo gallery is included in the what’s new section. Prevention of fires in the home and protection of people in workplaces is an increasingly important area of our work and details about these areas and others are all available on this site.

I hope you enjoy your visit.
