Welcome to the Lincolnshire countryside access and rights of way pages.  These web pages have been designed to help you get the most from your trip to the Lincolnshire Countryside.  Here you can find out about the opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding across the county using public rights of way and other access.

Lincolnshire's 4000km of public footpaths, bridleways and byways are managed by the county council's rights of way teams.  Our Countryside Officers work with landowners to make sure that vegetation on paths is kept clear, and that stiles, gates and bridges on the network are kept in good shape.  They carry out signing and waymarking of paths so that they are easy to find and follow.

The legal record of rights of way is maintained by our Definitive Map Team at Lincoln, managing changes to the path network.  The Access Development Team is responsible for raising the profile of countryside access, implementing the Rights of Way Improvement Plan, managing the Local Access Forums and administering the Parish Paths Partnership scheme.
